EP Review: Have Me To Waste by Starve To Survive

Newcastle dissonant hardcore act Starve To Survive release their new EP Have Me To Waste on 15th February. Produced by Connor Sweeney of highly respected local scene mates Loathe, the quintet have created five tracks of darkened aggression with huge grooves and torrents of haunting atmosphere.

It doesn’t get much heavier than this. Starve To Survive pack a forceful and immediate punch to the solar plexus that suckers you in, resonates and leaves you begging for more. Second track ‘Dismal’ is where the EP starts expressing itself and flourishing, the riffs are devasting and pummelling. ‘Back & Forth’ showcases some expansive parts and hints at that Starve To Survive are more than your average hardcore act.

Both ‘Twinge’ and ‘Dread’ excel with their brute force and heaviness while the title track confirms that Starve To Survive are going to be a force to be reckoned with.
