EP Review: Feed Me by QWAM

Brooklyn based QWAM release their debut EP Feed Me on 19th January. It’s all high-energy, angst-fuelled punk rock. The snarling vocals of Felicia Lobo complement the driving guitars, frenetic drums, and a smattering of catchy group “whoa-ohs”.

EP opener and title track ‘Feed Me’ gets things off to an auspicious start. There’s hints of the potential at the heart of QWAM and while it’s a strong punk rock track it proves to be the weakest track of the five. The snarling and snappy ‘Glitter Paint’ packs a punch and leaves you begging for more before ‘Crazier Than Me’ delivers up a strong and commanding slice of laidback punk. The simmering angst is infectious.

‘Doggie Door’ is the strongest track on the EP, a no frills riotous slab of punk condensed into two minutes, closer ‘Dirty Feet’ makes a good case for strongest track but is pipped by its predecessor on energy terms alone.

Make QWAM your ones to watch in 2018, big things are on the horizon.
